ok, like the thread suggests... i was watching jaws and got a message out of it.. i have a really weird habit of looking for messages in movies.
dunno know why, i just do.. well, since this is no recent movie (it came out in 75) i guess i wouldn't be spoiling it to say that when this monster great white attacked and killed a little boy, the mother of said boy comes up to the chief and smacks him.
she was trying to comprehend how the chief of police could knowingly allow people to swim in monster shark infested waters.

So I'm watching this last night and started thinking....
I definitely believe we need to promote tolerance amongst the various religions... that being said, when there are groups out there be them religious, political or whatever that cover the tracks of child molesters and unabashedly deceive people out of $$$ and life, and we know these exist having come out of the Org, do I
a) warn others about this shark infested religious org
or
b) figure all oceans (groups) have sharks somewhere within them, let the swimmer (person involved with org or looking to be involved) swim at their own risk?
how i get this out of a killer shark movie is beyond me...

next week i'm going to speak with a large group of people about the jehovah's witnesses and one or two of their teachings.
i don't have time to discuss all of their bizarre beliefs so i'd like to ask your opinions on which subjects to use.
what would you consider to be the one most outrageous teachings of the watchtower you would chose?
I think it depends on what kind of group you're talking to.
Some people would be totally outraged by the shunning policy. Others, the aspect that they teach the FDS aka GB are God's only Channel of Communication and thus all followers must accept whatever teachings coming from this group of imperfect, egotistical men is God's truth.

Well yesterday afternoon I received absolute proof (that I am seriously thinking of sending my sister) that the Jws are not the only ones involved in a teaching/preaching work:
When I went to get my mail, 2 'tracts' about Jesus and being saved were on my porch. This is the 2nd or 3rd group of people who have come through my neighborhood in a year. The message they carry is pretty simple: Jesus.
.....I realize next to what the others said this might not be such a big deal, but my point is just that while the witnesses claim they're the only ones fulfilling Matt 24, it doesn't take much to prove them wrong.

two weeks ago my wife had a miscarriage at 11 weeks.
it is very sad as it was to be my first child and my wife is already 39. what hurt the most though is that none of my immediate family contacted me.
i was d/f in january and did not expect to hear regularly from my parents and sister.
Incredibly sorry to hear about the miscarriage. That is so difficult. It is possible that your family doesn't realize how much you're hurting. That being said you know your family better then me. I'm sorry that they're treating you like this.
It's a funny thing, we know when we get df'ed or when we da that we shouldn't expect to hear from these people, but it is truly amazing that even in our darkest hours they can withhold love, affection and condolences.
The best I can offer is my friendship and my own condolences right now, as does everyone else.
Sorry 'bout this all facts.

I think so, because if I'm not mistaken that would be grieving the holy spirit. By turning our backs on "God's spirit annointed Organization" we would be basically grieving that Spirit.
